Monday Miscellany: the Dude, Rude, and Include

  • From the Los Angeles Times, LA Philharmonic president Deborah Borda joked that the orchestra’s first tour with its new music director, Gustavo Dudamel, had turned into the “Schadenfreude Tour.”
  • Bloomberg.com reported that Gerard Mortier, who never actually worked a day as General Director of New York City Opera before resigning in November of 2008, received  a salary of $65,000 and “severance” of $335,000.
  • The New York Times’ Ben Sisario reports that organizations and producers are eating up the idea of “premium tickets.”
