Review in Metro Pulse: Midori Plays Mendelssohn

There were two notable violin performances in the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra’s concerts last weekend. Midori was the guest violinist for the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto in E Minor. Balancing out the program was Richard Strauss’ tone poem, Ein Heldenleben. The extended violin solo in the Strauss was taken by Gabriel Lefkowitz, the first of three candidates for the KSO concertmaster position left vacant by the retirement of Mark Zelmanovich after last season. Lucas Richman conducted.

You can read my full review of the performance in this week’s issue of Metro Pulse.
