Review in Metro Pulse: KSO Performs ‘Emperor’ and Schumann’s ‘Rhenish’

Last week’s ice storm notwithstanding, I managed to review the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra and their Masterworks concert that featured Tchaikovsky’s Polonaise from Eugene Onegin, Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 5 (“Emperor”) with pianist Gleb Ivanov, and Schumann’s Symphony No. 3 (“Rhenish”). The guest conductor was Toshiyuki Shimada.
