In Metro Pulse: Review, KSO 2013-14 Season Opener

In this week’s issue of Metro Pulse on the stands now, I review the opening concert of the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra’s 2013-14 season–a concert headlined by the Eroica Trio performing Beethoven’s Triple Concerto. Readers will find that I was not particularly smitten by their thin sound and lack of depth, but enjoyed some of their ensemble-ness. On the other hand, the performance of Zoltan Kodaly’s Háry János Suite made the evening worthwhile. Lucas Richman, who will be leaving the KSO music director position after the 2014-15 season, conducted.
