In Metro Pulse: Brahms Sonatas and Mozart’s Flute Concerto No. 1

In this week’s column in Metro Pulse, I preview the upcoming UT School of Music recital series of Brahms duo sonatas with pianist Kevin Class and three colleagues — cellist Wesley Baldwin, clarinetist Victor Chavez, and violinist Ching-yi Lin. The series starts with the Cello and Piano sonatas on Friday, January 31.

Ebonee9_23_13_144pxAlso in the column is my review of the Knoxville Symphony Chamber Orchestra’s concert of Sunday, Jan 26, that featured the Mozart Flute Concerto No. 1 with flutist Ebonee Thomas. The All-Mozart concert also included the Overture to Idomeneo, A Musical Joke, and the “Paris” Symphony (No. 31). Lucas Richman conducted.
